What is a Racist? Look to Hitler

Posted by iwanttofitin on March 21, 2007

There are a lot of misconstrued conceptions about what a racist is. The term originally was recognized as a belief that one’s race was superior to another through biologic differences. Science has shown us that each race has its own hindrances and benefits. There is no one trait or traits that make one race superior or inferior to another biologically. The term is used today rather
liberally to mean someone who doesn’t like another race or someone because of their race. That isn’t racism. It’s either hate or fear.

Adolf Hitler was a true racist in the purest sense of the term. He believed the Aryan race was superior to all (the Japanese believed this too. Or at least that their society was better.) and went about proving it. Hitler had a problem. If the Aryan race was superior, what should he with everyone else? The answer was to “purify” or “cleanse” the world. Hitler wasn’t all talk. We know of the Jewish holocaust along with the other millions of people he had murdered because they weren’t good enough. Not only did Hitler created his “death” camps, but the World War he dominated for so long claimed the lives over 65 million people. Hitler took evolution to it’s roots. Get rid of the weak. He saw nothing wrong with this.

Of course, we all know the outcome of the Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. The world doesn’t tolerate atheistic evolution when taken literally and the world fought back.

So there you have it. Racism really has its roots in evolution starting with Charles Darwin. Adolf Hitler and other atheist leaders might consider On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life to be their Bible of sorts.

So the next time someone yells “racist” when you say someone looks like a monkey, rat, or ferret, call them out. Everyone has preconceived notions about other people. That doesn’t mean they are racists. They are usually uninformed or don’t care. Or if you’re like me, sometimes people do look like certain animals that are stereotypical for their race and you like to point it out.

I noticed you are posting a lot about Hitler/Nazis lately. Are you familiar with Godwin’s Law?

  2. I’ve only used Hitler/Nazis 3 times in all my posts and one time was a reference out of humor, not a real comparison. But I did find Godwin’s Law interesting. I’ll keep that in mind.

Lose for confuding eugenics for racism and somehow managing not to read gibbons, the rise and fall of the roman empire.

    Lesson:

    Historic context good.
Pretending world didn’t exist before 1936 bad.

Ps slave triangle totally had nothing to do with racism it just seemed better than the slave rhombus (where they’d be picking up nordic slaves at one point…)

Pps lose one more point for failing biology — wtf confusing biology for socially constructed encouragement/discouragement cycles or familial inheirted traits??

“The National Government regards the two Christian confessions as factors essential to the soul of the German people. … We hold the spiritual forces of Christianity to be indispensable elements in the moral uplift of most of the German people.”
“I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so.”
“What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence and the reproduction of our race…so that our people may mature for the fulfillment of the mission alloted it by the creator of the universe…Peoples that bastardize themselves, or let themselves be bastardized, sin against the will of eternal Providence.”
    -Adolf Hitler

“The bigger our movement gets, the more kinds of people it can house, and each will reflect the movement a little differently. No two things in God’s world are alike. Everything is a little different. Thus one person reflects things differently than another.”
“As long as we are speaking of miracles, it is worth asking why the National Socialist government has been so blessed with miracles, but not its predecessors. In those preceding governments, there was usually a party that never tired of maintaining that it had particularly close relations with God. Still, there were no miracles. They waited for one. They did not happen. … The most miraculous thing about miracles is that they always come when one does not simply wait for them, but works and fights for them. That is what has happened here. The Führer did not bring about the miracles of 1938 by waiting for them. He gathered and organized the strength of the nation and used it courageously. It paid off. There was certainly risk involved. Without big risks, history never grants big successes. This is further proof of the proverb that the world belongs to the brave.”
“I am only an instrument, / on which the old god / Sings his song.”
    -Joseph Goebbels

Might want to reexamine the Nazi movement’s “atheism”? I understand it’s fashionable to try and pawn off all the evils of the world on everybody else, and I understand atheists and humanists are easy targets because everybody hates them so much, but at least try to get your facts VAGUELY straight.

Have you read Mein Kampf? It’s a disturbing look into the mind of someone who was, for all his historical evil impact… Simply a human being, with strong if misguided convictions. Why’s that disturbing? Well, because it means he might not just have been an aberration that we’ll never see the likes of again.

PS: The Holocaust was certainly nothing even resembling natural selection. That, my friend, is what we’d call “artificial selection.”

  5. Kyle,

You might want to rethink believing everything a mass murderer says. Here are some more quotes from Hitler to put what you used into perspective:

“Amongst the accusations which are directed against Germany in the so called democracies is the charge that the National Socialist State is hostile to religion. In answer to that charge I should like to make before the German people the following solemn declaration:
No one in Germany has in the past been persecuted because of his religious views, nor will anyone in the future be so persecuted…”

“To whom should propaganda be addressed? … It must be addressed always and exclusively to the masses… The function of propaganda does not lie in the scientific training of the individual, but in calling the masses’ attention to certain facts, processes, necessities, etc., whose significance is thus for the first time placed within their field of vision. The whole art consists in doing this so skilfully that everyone will be convinced that the fact is real, the process necessary, the necessity correct, etc. But since propaganda is not and cannot be the necessity in itself … its effect for the most part must be aimed at the emotions and only to a very limited degree at the so-called intellect… it’s soundness is to be measured exclusively by its effective result”. (Main Kampf, Vol 1, Ch 6 and Ch 12)

A letter by Hitler to the French fascist Hervé and published in the Nazi Völkischer Beobachter on October 26, 1930 [Heiden, Der Fuehrer, p. 414]:

“I think I can assure you that there is no one in Germany who will not with all his heart approve any honest attempt at an improvement of relations between Germany and France. My own feelings force me to take the same attitude… The German people has the solemn intention of living in peace and friendship with all civilized nations and powers… And I regard the maintenance of peace in Europe as especially desirable and at the same time secured, if France and Germany, on the basis of equal sharing of natural human rights, arrive at a real inner understanding… The young Germany, that is led by me and that finds its expression in the National Socialist Movement, has only the most heartfelt desire for an understanding with other European nations.”

“National Socialism and religion cannot exist together….
“The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity’s illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity….
“Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things.”

“Kerrl, with noblest of intentions, wanted to attempt a synthesis between National Socialism and Christianity. I don’t believe the thing’s possible, and I see the obstacle in Christianity itself….
“Pure Christianity– the Christianity of the catacombs– is concerned with translating Christian doctrine into facts. It leads quite simply to the annihilation of mankind. It is merely whole-hearted Bolshevism, under a tinsel of metaphysics.”

What have we learned? Actions do truly speak louder than words. Adolf Hitler showed what his heart was truly like with his actions.

  6. mrrar aibyouka,

Your comment needs some work. If I’m going to respond to it, please reference the actual post and not someone else’s book about the Roman Empire.

I’m not arguing that Hitler was an honest person. But he certainly worked Christianity into the dogma of his state. In his Table Talk (if we can even believe the source, as there’s only one edition available that even the stenographers themselves say was unreliably edited), Hitler denounced Christianity in reference to the organized Church, which he said was an invention of the Jews…

“Originally, Christianity was merely an incarnation of Bolshevism the destroyer. Nevertheless, the Galilean, who later was called Christ, intended something quite different. He must be regarded as a popular leader who too up His position against Jewry. Galilee was a colony where the Romans had probably installed Gallic legionaries, and it’s certain that Jesus was not a Jew. The Jews, by the way, regarded Him as the son of a whore– of a whore and a Roman soldier.

The decisive falsification of Jesus’s doctrine was the work of St. Paul. He gave himself to this work with subtlety and for purposes of personal exploitation. For the Galiean’s object was to liberate His country from Jewish oppression. He set Himself against Jewish capitalism, and that’s why the Jews liquidated Him. ”

He was also a fan of the Protestant Reformation.

“Luther had the merit of rising against the Pope and the organisation of the Church. It was the first of the great revolutions. And thanks to his translation of the Bible, Luther replaced our dialects by the great German language!”

Are you under the mistaken impression that only an atheist could ever commit genocide?

  8. Are you under the mistaken impression that only an atheist could ever commit genocide?

Actually, I’m quite sure that I’m not mistaken about that. A person that “claims” to be a Christian does not make it so. I don’t believe a true Christian would commit murder on a mass scale. Just the same, I don’t believe a true Atheist can call what Hitler did “wrong.” Given what atheism and evolution are, there is nothing wrong in the world. Everything is good.

My point with the quotes I used is that Hitler can’t be believed. He said he was a Christian. Then he said Christianity was the problem. He said he wouldn’t persecute people for their religions. Then he murders them.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Hitler was not anything in particular. He was just insane. But he was smart enough to know how to use different religious aspects to his advantage depending on who he was trying to convince of whatever. Yes, atheism and evolution are religions. It’s a belief in some sort of ultimate authority or deity no matter what you want to call the deity.

So basically, you can’t use Hitler’s own comments to defend him no matter what side you take. You can only use his actions. Actions truly do speak louder than words.

lol you are funny. Have you seen the Flat Earth Society pages? Were you involved in that project?

also, I didn’t go in depth as to what was wrong with your post, or how my comments reflected them, because it seemed rather obvious…

-Romans were racist (Racism obviously preexists not only Hitler, but Darwin, and they certainly weren’t Atheists),

-the slave trade obviously wasn’t a Rhombus,

-illustrating in a tounge in cheek fashion that its roots were also Racist (again, preexisting Darwinist thought– at best you could pull up Socratic/humanist thought, neither of which support the idea of slavery per se)

-and finally I was pointing out that yes, the world existed before 1936, Hitler wasn’t the first racist, or even a really good example of a racist, per se.

Indeed, Hitler was a Eugenicist. I think you’re confusing Racist for Eugenicist.

I was pointing out your failure of Biology because you confuse “Inherited family trait” with “Race.” There is no such thing as race. There are no races among species, and species cannot (generally) produce viable offspring.

Think of it this way. There is as much race as there is a race between people Austrians and Bavarians. Or, more as an easily comprehended example.. Lets say you have blonde hair, your neighbors brown hair. All of their kids have brown hair. All of yours have blonde hair. Does this mean you are of different races? No.

Consider human beings with traits, that then get spread across continents– over tens of thousands of years, inherently their traits would also become more diasporic. If you pooled together all of their genes, however, in a global pool, and spread it out again, we’d become more uniform, but no more uniform than the uniformity that exists between Germans and French– or you and your neighbors.

Race is a convenient social construct for understanding collected traits.

But then, this argument wouldn’t dig with the persona you are portraying, since he doesn’t believe in evolution or, in turn, genetics.

hee hee you’re amusing. Like Colbert.

The reason I asked about only atheists committing genocide… Do you believe that the Old Testament applies to Christians? If so, you might want to go back and read Deuteronomy (20:10-17), because God very specifically advocates genocide there.

“When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. When the LORD your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the LORD your God gives you from your enemies. This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby.

However, in the cities of the nations the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the LORD your God has commanded you.”

Course, back then God was a jealous, wrathful God. 😛

  11. God is still a jealous God. The Old Testament still applies to Christians but not everything in the old covenant is in the new covenant. That’s obviously why God forged a new covenant. The Old Covenant was directed specifically at Jews and those verses you quoted were given as commands directly to Jews to do a specific thing that God wanted of them at that time.

Christians now have a new covenant that is for all believers and not just those born or adopted into the Jewish faith. In the New Testament Christians are told to “go and make disciples of all nations.” That command is not given in the Old Testament. Just as sacrificial laws, direct revelation from God, visions, etc. were replaced with the coming of Christ, so to did the way in which God shows His power. God’s power is shown less out of fear and destruction and more from the Holy Spirit. God’s unwaivering love towards the Israelites was shown by blessing them with land and riches and destroying other nations during the Old Testament times. With God’s new covenant His love is shown in a more intimate manner.

I’m not sure that is a good explanation. Some things are more understandable in my head than when I try to write them out.

  12. I’d like wander back towards the topic of the original post. It’s not that I don’t want to talk about it more, but the post dealt mainly with what racism is. Adolf Hitler was just supposed to illustrate that point.
