And Our Torture Methods are Bad?

The Department of Defense recently declassified an Al-Qaeda torture manual that includes pictures. Some of the methods of torture are to remove eyeballs, place heads in a vice, burn the skin with a blow torch, etc. The Smoking Gun has all the details available with pictures of the manual, torture devices confiscated, and images of victims’ wounds. A Tale of Marriage

Once upon a time in this one married couple’s home, there was a husband and wife. Sometimes they enjoyed taking showers together. During one of these fun romps, the wife heard her husband ask, “Do you like me”? “What an odd question,” she thought to herself. “Of course I do, honey.” She then found herself being peed on.

You lay your head on your desk, your arms wrapped around to conceal your face, which is pressing against the desk that you realize 12 years later was probably sneezed on several times by one of your classmates only minutes earlier. At the time you begin smelling that strange spot on the desk. You wonder if it’s edible. Hmmm. Your thumb is up, high and proud. You begin to sweat and the air you breathe gets heavier and heavier.

Is This How Gun Control Works?

Yesterday a British man (I’m assuming because there is no name) left the following comment on my A Perfect World: Gun Control post.

As a “Brit” I dread the day that Britain moves any way towards the wholesale owning of guns as reflected in American society. Britain is not perfect by any means but gun crime in Britain is relatively rare in comparison to America. I believe this is due to the residual “Wild West” mentality of a large section of American society and the misquoted “right to bear arms” which should apply to society as a whole, not every individual. The gun lobby has a lot to answer for.

I responded a few times with some statistics and through that research have come up with many more statistics that I’d like to share. Remember as you read this that Britain outlawed all guns in 1997. Even the Olympic shooting team isn’t allowed to practice there. NO ONE is ALLOWED to own a gun.

I’m Curious (Looking for an Evolutionist/Atheist Viewpoint)

I came across this quote in something I was reading the other day and it struck my interest. Now for me, it is understandable and I get it.
